Description
Family & Love is a one of a kind stone sculpture featuring three figures behind a naturally heart-shaped stone.
I made this freestanding sculpture from eight stones collected from the Aroostook River in Caribou, Maine. I selected each stone for its natural shape and character, then drilled, reinforced, and bonded the pieces by hand. The unpainted surfaces keep the stones’ texture and markings visible. The grouping celebrates family and connection.

Watch how my river stone sculptures come together
From choosing the river stones to pinning, assembling and finishing, these videos show how I make my stone sculptures. Each piece takes about five days to come together, with much of that time spent waiting for adhesives, paint and finishes.
