Aroostook River Clay Mushroom is a one of a kind painting made with natural river clay.
I painted this mushroom with clay collected from the Aroostook River by hand in Caribou, Maine. On 5 × 5 inch Arches paper, the clay creates earthy tones and subtle variations. I protected the painting with UV-resistant clear spray and finished it with a hand-cut double mat in a 10 × 10 inch wood frame, with an approximately 8 × 8 inch viewing area.
