Description
This one of a kind piece began as a vintage BEST glass bottle found in the Aroostook River in Caribou, Maine. After surviving the river intact for who knows how many years, it became part of my “I Survived the Aroostook River” collection and was given a new life in my studio.
I cleaned and preserved the bottle, then decorated it entirely by hand. The hanging design includes tiny daisy flowers that I stitched from individual seed beads, along with pink and green glass beads, drilled Aroostook River stones, and a silver colored Tree of Life charm. The neck is wrapped in natural twine to complete the piece.
The drilled stones are especially meaningful to me because they came from the same river where the bottle was found, bringing the story of the Aroostook River into both the bottle and the details added to it.
The bottle holds water and can be used as a small vase for fresh or dried flowers, or displayed on its own as a one of a kind piece of found object art.

Vintage Condition
This bottle has a small chip along the top rim, a reminder of the life it had before becoming a piece of art. The chip is visible on close inspection and is part of the bottle’s found condition. Please handle the rim with care.
From the river found bottle to the drilled stones and hand stitched beadwork, every part of this piece carries a little bit of the Aroostook River and the work of my hands.
