Description
My Daughter, My Heart is an original Aroostook River stone sculpture celebrating the bond between mother and daughter. Handmade from six natural stones collected from the Aroostook River in Caribou, Maine, this one of a kind artwork brings together two figures and a naturally shaped stone heart.
The smaller daughter figure rests above the heart beside her mother, creating a simple expression of love and connection. The stones’ earthy colors, individual markings and natural shapes are part of the composition, making this piece impossible to duplicate exactly.
Each stone was individually drilled, joined with internal steel pins and bonded with JB Weld. The finished sculpture has a protective clear coating and is signed and dated beneath the base. Its accompanying story card shares the meaning of the piece and the origin of its river stones.
