Description
This handmade driftwood sign highlights the beauty of Maine.
I burned and painted the design by hand on a piece of 19th-century cedar shingle found along the Aroostook River in Caribou. The wood came from the old lumber mill site and has natural character from its age and history.
The word “Maine” is illustrated with simple, natural elements:
• Mountains for M
• A piece of green Aroostook River beach glass for A
• A lighthouse for I
• Wild blueberries for N
• A Maine potato for E
The wood is sealed with a matte UV spray and signed for authenticity. It measures about 14″ long and 4″ tall.
