Description
Stray Cats original art is part of my Aroostook River Illustrations series. This one of a kind piece combines watercolor, gouache, and genuine Aroostook River glass.
Two little cats sit together on a wooden fence beneath a glowing full moon. Their tails curl together into a heart. The cats are made with pieces of river glass that I personally collected from the Aroostook River in Caribou, Maine.
The night sky, moon, fence, and other details are painted by hand using watercolor and gouache. The river glass adds dimension to the painting and makes a little piece of the Aroostook River part of the artwork itself.
Each piece of river glass has been naturally shaped over time. Its color, shape, and character cannot be duplicated, making Stray Cats truly one of a kind.
The original artwork measures 5 x 7 inches. It is matted and finished in an 8 x 10 inch frame with a glass panel. It arrives framed and ready to display or hang.
