Introduction
When I started creating under the name Riverbed Art in 2013, I never imagined how deeply this journey would intertwine with my own personal story of resilience. In 2019, during chemotherapy, I found myself designing the Riverbed Art logo—a process that became a symbol of strength, hope, and renewal for me.
A Logo Born from Strength and Change
At that point in my life, stability and “normalcy” was something I desperately longed for. The cobalt blue in the logo represents that sense of strength and grounding I needed but couldn’t always find. Designing this logo gave me a way to hold onto the idea that stability and resilience were still within reach, even in the face of life’s challenges.
The Fiddlehead Fern: A Symbol of Renewal
The green fiddlehead ferns in the logo hold a special place in my heart. Every spring, they emerge along the banks of our home on the Aroostook River, These vibrant ferns are more than just a beautiful sign of the changing seasons—they symbolize new beginnings and the potential for growth, even after periods of hardship.
Fiddleheads remind me that, like nature, we can start over as many times as we need to. They grow together, standing resilient against the river’s relentless currents, showing me that we’re stronger when we find ways to grow alongside one another.
A Reminder to Start Over, Together
For me, the fiddleheads in the logo represent the heart of Riverbed Art. They reflect the idea that growth and renewal are possible, even after long periods of dormancy. As long as we’re living, there’s always the chance to start over—and we don’t have to do it alone.
More Than a Logo
This logo is more than just a design to me. It’s a deeply personal reminder of the strength, stability, and resilience that lie within us all. It’s a celebration of life’s ever-changing nature and proof that, even in the hardest moments, there’s always the potential for new growth.
Every piece I create for Riverbed Art—whether it’s a driftwood sign, a beach glass angel, or a framed illustration—carries this message of hope and renewal.
A Legacy of Strength and Creativity
The cobalt blue and the green fiddleheads in the Riverbed Art logo are my testament to resilience. They remind me—and I hope they remind others—that no matter how many times life uproots us, we can always find a way to grow and thrive again.
