Description

This one of a kind decorative bottle began in the Aroostook River in Caribou, Maine, where I found the vintage L.F. Medicine Co. bottle still intact.

Dating to the 1930s, this bottle is one of my “I Survived the Aroostook River” pieces. After spending decades in the river, it somehow remained whole, carrying its own marks, history, and character with it.

I cleaned and preserved the bottle, then transformed it by hand in my studio using rustic twine, pink glass beads, and silver colored metal charms.

Rather than hiding the age and story of the bottle, I wanted those details to remain part of the finished piece. It also still holds water, so it can be used as a small vase for fresh flowers or displayed on its own as a decorative art piece.
